was founded in 1996 by Occupational Therapist Jayne Dederichs.
Occupational Hand Therapist Jayne Dederichs earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University where she graduated Cum Laude in 1982. Jayne received her specialized hand training under renowned Hand Surgeon Robert R. Schenck, MD at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. Jayne opened her first therapy clinic in February 1996. The clinic, located in Calumet City Illinois specialized in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. From 1996 to 2003 Jayne expanded her practice by opening a total of five clinics and hiring additional hand therapists/Certified Hand Therapists. In 2003, Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist Van Huffine joined the Company as a principle owner and as Vice-President and Director of Operations. With Van’s experience in managing both Hand Therapy and Physical Therapy practices, the Company added the provision of Physical Therapy to the therapy services provided and continued to expand it's number of locations and services provided. In 2007, Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist Brad Isaac joined the Company as Partner and Director of Ohio Clinics. Jayne, Van, Brad along with five Managers and Presidnet /CEO Paul Dederichs comprise the Motion Leadership Team. In 2011, the Company re-branded it's image with a new name and a new look.
